Improving community participation in strengthening programs for older people

Australia’s population is getting older and there is a need to better understand the beliefs and behaviours of people as they age. Curtin University’s School of Physiotherapy and Exercise Science, in collaboration with COTAWA and Silver Chain and funded by Healthway, are conducting a study to better understand how much COTAWA’s members participate in strength training exercise programs and the reasons why they choose to participate or not. The results of this study will be used to develop strategies that will help COTAWA’s members be active and improve their health and well-being.
