Mall Walkers hit the News

COTA Mall Walking is going from strength to strength.

Belmont Mall Walking Group recently celebrated its 10 year anniversary in a celebration attended by Glenys Godfrey  MLA, Member for Belmont – who, when as Mayor of the City of Belmont, helped launch the service at its inception!  50 Walkers helped celebrate the success of the Centre and 10 Walkers received Certificate for 10 continual years of Walking!  Here is a link to the Community News coverage of their special day in Belmont.

We were also joined by The Square Mirrabooka as our fifth Mall Walking Centre in a successful launch conducted by Janine Freeman MLA, Member for Mirrabooka and joined by 35 local Seniors.  Our volunteer Walk Leaders Kerry, Gordon and Gladys (pictured leading the group) did brilliantly with a little help from Maureen, Stuart and Jan from our Karrinyup Mall Walking Group – who mentored the new team.  The new Walkers had a ball, and we are confident the group will be one of our strongest!  Here is a link to the Community News coverage of the launch!

Congratulations to the Centres and fabulous Walk Leaders who make it all possible.  For more information on COTA Mall Walking, call 9472 0104 or check our link.
