1. Download and Print the Instructions form here, your Doctor’s Referral Letter form here, and list of Providers here.
2. Take your Doctor’s Referral Letter form to your GP and get it completed. They will make a recommendation for which Tier of the Program for you to belong to.
3. Select your Tier 1 or Tier 2 provider of choice here or on your Provider List and contact them to book in your initial Assessment. Take all the forms with you to your Assessment!
Did you know that you are never too old to start a strength training program that can help you prevent or manage a wide range of health conditions such as sarcopenia (loss of muscle mass), osteoporosis, arthritis, hypertension and diabetes?
COTA WA’s Living Longer Living StrongerTM program has more than 3,500 participants, undertaking individualised supervised strength training programs at more than 50 metropolitan and regional locations across WA.
Each participant must be assessed prior to commencing the program. This assessment enables our qualified instructors to develop an individualised strength training program, suited to your level of health and fitness. We encourage participants to attend 2-3 fully supervised sessions per week to achieve optimal results. Living Longer Living StrongerTM is a progressive strength training program and your resistance will increase as your strength increases.
All instructors are fully qualified and carry a Living Longer Living StrongerTM accreditation which allows them to run the sessions. They will offer encouragement and support while instructing you on correct technique in a safe, fun and friendly environment.
All session and assessment fees are capped by COTA WA and are a low cost option for those over 50. Rebates may be available from Medicare (Tier 1 only) and your private health funds.
