New Participants

Congratulations on taking the first step towards a healthier and more active lifestyle! Soon you will be joining your peers in our welcoming, fully supervised service whilst completing your own individualised exercise program at an affordable, capped cost.

As we get older our bodies change in many ways – and not always for the better. Research proves that regular participation in the Living Longer Living Stronger™ program  will increase your strength and muscle mass, reduce the risk of major chronic diseases (including osteoporosis), and improve the management of existing ailments – as well as improve your coordination, balance and your ability to do everyday things.  It is also a great way to meet new people, and fun!  We look forward to seeing you!

To commence with Living Longer Living Stronger, follow this easy step by step guide:

1. Download and print the:

Instructions form here
Doctor’s Referral Letter formjohn here
List of Providers here.

2. Take the Doctor’s Referral Letter to your GP for completion.  Your doctor will help you to decide which Tier of the service is the most suitable for you according to your health history

3. Contact your Tier 1 or Tier 2 provider of choice here (or on your printed Provider List) book in your Initial Assessment.

4.  Attend your Assessment appointment with your completed forms.  Our qualified instructors will use the appointment to create an individualised training program for you.

5. Join the classes with your program.  We encourage participants to attend 2 to 3 fully supervised classes per week to achieve optimum results. Living Longer Living StrongerTM is progressive in nature and program will change as your strength increases.

All instructors are fully qualified and carry a Living Longer Living StrongerTM accreditation which allows them to run the sessions. They will offer encouragement and support while instructing you on correct technique in a safe, fun and friendly environment.  All sessions and assessment fees are capped by COTA WA to be a low cost option.

Rebates for Tier 1 may be available from Medicare (ask your Doctor about including the Assessment under a Care Plan) and your private health fund.  Contact your private health fund to ensure that you have coverage prior to commencement.

HBF provide almost all of their Senior members with between $200 and $500 worth of rebates per year for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 assessments and sessions.

So what are you waiting for? If you have any questions, call the Living Longer Living StrongerTM team  on 9472 0104 or contact us here.
