About Strength for Life

Strength for LifeTM is an evidence-based program that encourages and supports change in the health and fitness sectors to achieve improved health, quality of life and fitness for people aged over 50 years.

The program provides affordable, high quality, results orientated, progressive strength training that focuses on functional improvements to strength, fitness, balance, gait and well-being. It also seeks to optimise the social engagement of participants; both to improve attendance and to minimise the social isolation frequently experienced by those seniors.

The concept was developed and tested in Victoria from 1999. It was introduced into Western Australia in 2004 and currently provides quality, individualised exercise programs state-wide.
