Since the gradual easing of restrictions, we’ve been working with The Department of Communities, WA Local Government Association and the Age-Friendly Communities Network to ensure that we can still recognise the remarkable achievements of our seniors, as well as those businesses and local governments who went the extra mile during COVID-19 to support seniors right across Western Australia.
Major changes for 2020 are:
- Local Councils will be asked to nominate outstanding seniors and businesses who went above and beyond during the COVID-19 pandemic this year.
- Seniors Awards recipients will be announced during Seniors Week (8-16 November) with a special event for recipients hosted by The Governor of WA at Government House in December.
- The Community Grants program cannot be delivered in the usual format this year however, a number of organisations will be hosting an event during November to celebrate the diversity of WA seniors.
